Online oddsmakers have assigned an even line (PK or pick’em) to the UConn-San Diego State game as both teams advance to the Sweet 16.  Gambling911.com calculations have the Aztecs deserving to be a -2.5 point favorite however.  Early action on the spread (not that there really is one) had bettors overwhelmingly backing Connecticut here by more than 90 percent.  The percentage was likely to come down to 80 to 85 percent by game time.  But as a result we could see some books offering a spread of -1 or greater in favor of the Huskies.

San Diego State managed to advance by beating Temple in double overtime with a final score of 71-64.

"We were tired but we knew that we had to win this game," Aztecs point guard DJ Gay said after playing all 50 minutes. "We just wanted it a little bit more. We just sucked it up."

Billy White made the go-ahead jumper and Leonard completed two free throws as the second-seeded Aztecs (34-2) ended up victorious.  This is the second NCAA Tournament game ever won by San Diego State.

Meanwhile, UConn dashed Cincinnati’s hopes of a Sweet 16 appearance with a 69-58 win.

"Watching all the games, all the Big East teams were getting knocked off one by one. It did worry me a little bit," said UConn center  Alex Oriakhi, who had 11 rebounds as part of the Huskies' 35-25 advantage on the boards. "But I'm happy we got to the Sweet 16 and hopefully we'll get more wins."

Kemba Walker scored 33 points for the Huskies, who have made their 13th Sweet 16 since seeding began.
