During a Twitter exchange with Daniel Negreanu, 77-year-old poker legend, Doyle Brunson, hinted that he might be retiring from the poker circuit and perhaps focusing on his online ventures, including DoylesRoom.com.

Brunson had taken some earlier jabs at Negreanu for busting out of a Mohegan Sun hosted poker tournament on Day One, for which Negreanu eventually responded that Doyle “must be bored” for posting what he did so quickly after Negreanu busted.

Brunson responded:  In your wildest imagination you can't believe how bored and useless I feel. I may never go bust in another tourny, guess why?"

Some were left to infer that the “why” means Brunson is retiring from the live circuit scene.

Indeed, during the inaugural Punta Cana Poker Classic, Brunson told Gambling911.com he had hoped to bust out of that tournament early in order to allow the Team Brunson players a better shot at the cash prize.  He has also stated in the past that winning a bracelet is not as important to him as in past years.

Brunson has undergone a series of health problems in recent years.  In late February, doctors found a cancerous tumor in his left arm.  It was surgically removed.
