When we look at the Oakland Raiders odds of beating the Baltimore Ravens on the road we look back at past history that tells us Oakland is both 1-4 Against The Spread verses Baltimore and they are 1-4 Straight Up. The line here opened at Ravens -7 and has essentially stayed there, however, some of the sharper online sports betting establishments like TheGreek.com and PinnacleSports.com had Oakland at +9, allowing for a middling opportunity if Baltimore were to win by 8 points. At press time Wednesday night you could get the Ravens at -7 at BetOnline.com.

Actually, Baltimore has won 6 of the last 7 in this series dating all the way back to 1987, long before the team left Cleveland. The last time these two teams played in September 2006, Baltimore won by 28-6. They were a -12 ½ favorite then.

One of the more ominous stats facing the Raiders: They are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win. They are 3-19 SU in their last 22 games on the road

Baltimore, meanwhile, is 17-7 Straight Up in its last 24 games at home.

Last week, the Ravens Terrell Suggs returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown, leading the Ravens in a 27-13 road win over Miami while Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski kicked a franchise-record 57-yard field goal to defeat the Jets, 16-13, in overtime.

Ravens rookie QB Joe Flacco had his best performance of the season against Miami, posting a 120.2 passer rating while providing his team with the type of game management it needs to complement a stifling defense. Flacco completed more than 73 percent of his passes for the second consecutive week and did not turn the ball over for the first time since Week 1.

The Ravens have not allowed a 100-yard rusher in 25 straight games, the longest current streak in the NFL. This is one of the stingiest defenses in the league and as look as the offense can click, Baltimore should be able to take command of Oakland.

Gambling911.com picks Baltimore to cover the -7 spread.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
