US Feds Seize Home of Playboy Playmate Destiny Davis in Online Poker Crackdown
US prosecutors moved to seized a Las Vegas mansion belonging to Playboy Magazine’s Miss January in 2005 Destiny Davis as part of a crackdown on Internet gambling. Davis had married one of the defendants in a case against Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com the day after his indictment.
Davis’ new hubby, Las Vegas businessman Chad Elie, is facing up to 50 years behind bars. He is charged with processing funds for the three big online poker ventures. Counts include money laundering and bank fraud.
The house in question was purchased by Davis last year for $1.5 million. It is one of five homes connected to the case that federal law enforcement look to seize.
Four more homes owned by Raymond Bitar, founder of Full Tilt Poker, the world’s second largest Internet card room, are also about to be grabbed, according to Forbes.com. Bitar’s homes are all located in Glendora, California, including what Forbes describes as a “5,100 square-foot Tuscan estate that boasts unobstructed views to Los Angeles, mountains and private vineyards, that Bitar purchased in 2008 for $2.9 million”. A home owned and occupied by Bitar’s father’s widow, Nabiha, is also part of the seizure.
