Greg Raymer, John Juanda Fight Phil Hellmuth at 2011 WSOP $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship

Phil Hellmuth had some solid road blocks in his way of achieving a record 12^th WSOP bracelet with Greg Raymer and John Juanda also at the final table of the 2011 WSOP $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship.

Greg Raymer, known affectionately as “The Fossilman”, won the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event and has nearly $7 million in live poker tournament winnings, most of which have come from World Series of Poker cashouts.

Discussing the chaos of the past two months that has engulfed the online poker world, Raymer sees a major shift in attitude at this year’s World Series of Poker. Online players from two of three online poker rooms indicted on April 15 are yet to receive funds totaling in the millions.

“There are a lot players who are looking to take shots,” Raymer said in an interview with CardPlayer Magazine. “I think the attitude of some people here, much more so than previous years, is to either go big or go home this World Series, because they can’t make a living online right now. So they are either going to build up a huge bankroll and be a successful live pro, whether it be cash games or tournaments, or lose the bankroll trying and go back home and get a job. You are definitely hearing that story this year. This mindset probably carries over into one’s play at the beginning of a tournament. They think, ‘I need to build up a big stack quick, because I don’t want to play this for a day and a half and fall short before the bubble, since I want be able to play other things.’”

John Juanda, meanwhile, has enjoyed great success on the poker scene in recent years, with winnings that exceed $10 million.

Although Juanda has made 6 World Poker Tour final tables, he has never captured a WPT title.
