2011 WSOP Updates: Aaron Steury Wins $1,500 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. Championship

Fort Wayne, Indiana resident Aaron Steury has won the 2011 WSOP $1,500 buy-in H.O.R.S.E Championship.

“I fell in love with poker when I was 16 years old,” said Steury, “playing home games with friends.

“I’ve been playing high stakes online multi-table tournaments for about four years,” said Steury, “and never really had a score of any significance until this. It’s finally my day, I guess.”

963 poker players took part in the event.

"This is one of the softest WSOP fields," he said after the win. "There are a lot of people who do not know what they are doing. As you would expect, Day 1 was easier, then Day 2 got a bit tougher, and then Day 3 was very tough."
