Betting on the NFL in 2011 is appearing more and more like a reality as the league lockout is widely expected to come to an end.  The online sportsbooks were currently offering early odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl with the reigning Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers favorites to win at 13/2 odds.

The New England Patriots were a close second at 7/1 odds followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers at 10/1

The San Diego Chargers and New York Jets odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl were set at 12/1 each.

Three NFL teams had 14/1 odds, including the Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons and New York Saints.   The Dallas Cowboys also had odds of 14/1 to win the championship.

The Eagles and Colts were each at 16/1 odds.

From there we see quite a distance between the next group of teams with the Chicago Bears at 30/1 odds followed by Kansas City at 33/1 and Houston also at 33/1 odds.  The St. Louis Rams are promising good things for those of you looking to start betting on the NFL 2011 regular season.  They were set at 35/1 odds.

Teams at 40/1 odds included the San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (great value on the Bucs in our humble opinion)  Detroit also had 40/1 odds

Elsewhere, the Miami Dolphins odds were listed at 50/1, Jacksonville, Oakland and Tennessee each had odds of 66/1.

Cincinnati, Seattle and Denver each had odds of 80/1.

Washington, Cleveland and Arizona were each at 100/1 odds of winning the 2012 Super Bowl.

Buffalo and Carolina were expected to be this year’s lowly franchises with virtually zero chance of a championship.  Should either of these two teams go onto win the 2012 Super Bowl (and stranger things have happened), the payout would be US$20,000 on every US$100 bet – so go for it!
