Texas Republican Congressman Joe Barton is set to make public his much anticipated online poker bill by next week, the earliest.  A report published late last week seemed to indicate the bill could be drafted as early as this week but that no longer appears to be the case.

"He is very serious about getting something done," said Sean Brown, communications director for Barton.

The sector has been shaken by recent indictments against three of the world’s largest online poker companies by US authorities.  Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com were forced to exit the US market as a result.

Countless numbers of players have yet to receive millions of dollars from Full Tilt Poker and UB.com.  PokerStars has paid in full.
