Appearing on Quadjacks.com radio podcast Wednesday afternoon, PPN Poker Room head Chuck Kidd reported that no suit was ever filed against Jamie Gold in the state of New Jersey over debts owed.

“I spoke to Jamie and it is not true,” Kidd said.

He also claimed to have checked the court records in New Jersey and found nothing.

The assertion:  TMZ essentially made up the story.

TMZ.com reported:

The owners of the Borgata Casino won a default judgment against Gold back in 2010 for what is alleged to have been a bounced $52K check. They won the judgment against Gold in New Jersey, but the former world champion lives in California, so the Casino needs to file papers in California to get the judgment enforced there.

Jamie Gold is the biggest winner in World Series of Poker history, having won the main event in 2006.  He was forced to split some of the monies won as a result of a promotional arrangement.

Gold is currently a representative of Chuck Kidd’s online poker room.
