Players Around The World Lost When it Comes to Full Tilt Poker

The searches were endless on Wednesday coming into the Gambling911.com website, all from countries outside the US, all trying to find information on Full Tilt Poker:

“Is There a Problem With Full Tilt Poker?”

“Problems With FullTiltPoker”

“Is My Money in Full Tilt Poker Gone”

“Full Tilt European Players”

“Full Tilt Poker Canada News Update”

“Full Tilt Poker License”

“Full Tilt Poker How Long Will it be Down for Maintenance”

The vast majority of online poker players simply do not visit websites like TwoPlusTwo.com and not even news sites like Gambling911.com.  A large percentage of readers find G911 through search inquiries.

Many customers of Full Tilt Poker appeared completely oblivious of what had transpired earlier in the day and it did not appear the European mainstream press was covering the situation much either.

Advertisment:

William Hill is the biggest bookmaker in the UK and in business since 1932. They don't get much more established than that. Check out their online poker room. Part of the iPoker Network (4th largest)

Full Tilt Poker had its license yanked by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission around Noon London time Wednesday.  The site was not operational throughout the day and it was unclear whether the company, indicted by the US Justice Department on April 15 and considered a “deadbeat” by US players waiting over 2 months for payouts, would relocate elsewhere.

Even a relocation might not be enough.  Full Tilt Poker, under intense scrutiny by the US Justice Department, will have a tough time finding new processors.  On Wednesday, Moneybookers announced it had severed ties with what has been the second largest Internet poker room in the world.

The AGCC said in a statement this morning: “The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15thApril 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation."

There has been plenty of speculation over these past two months over what will become of FTP and none of it looks good as the company appears to have liquidity problems.

Another interesting search coming into the Gambling911.com site:

“Michele Clayborne”

Ms. Clayborne is Full Tilt Poker’s “consultant” who was in charge of overseeing all those Full Tilt Poker pros, none of whom have a place to play now and there are questions as to whether Clayborne will still be employed in the coming weeks.

Her name has been all over the Net after she was caught assuming the identity of a once popular former employee of Full Tilt who regularly communicated with customers on boards like TwoPlusTwo among others.

Her/His constant reassurances of “good news is coming soon” never quite materialized.

Clayborne has been called upon in recent weeks to “do Full Tilt Poker’s dirty work”.  In the past, she has lashed out at sites like Gambling911.com, demanding it remove content about the company.  Gambling911.com refused of course.
