Full Tilt Poker is in plenty of trouble between an April 15 indictment, suspension of its gambling license in Alderney and a class action suit filed on behalf of players who are yet to be paid, each of whom is seeking treble damages.

Our own Jenny Woo next week will be speaking with one of the world’s most famed defense attorneys, Stuart Slotnick.  His dad, Barry, you might recall, represented Subway shooter Bernard Goetz in the 80’s.

Stuart serves as corporate counsel to billionaire casino magnate, Steve Wynn, who ironically partnered with one of the April 15 defendants PokerStars just weeks before the indictments were handed down.

Gambling911.com was granted an interview with Slotnick after he attained a settlement for Sportingbet PLC in a case against the United States Attorney of the Southern District of New York.

Sportingbet PLC, a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange (LON: SBT) entered into a non-prosecution agreement and forfeiture of $33 million.

The settlement was viewed as a positive one for Sportingbet, as a competitor, Partygaming PLC, settled similar charges in 2009 for $105 million.

“In addition to the April 15 indictments of Stars, Full Tilt Poker and UB.com, we will also be discussing the ramifications of the class action lawsuit against FTP,” Ms. Woo stated.  “I’ll be asking if the three companies will have all fines waived provided they comply with court orders not to operate in the US, as was suggested by a forensic accountant appearing on the popular Quadjacks Podcast.”
