WSOP 2011 Main Event Attendance Lagging Behind Last Year

985 was the final number for Day 1B of the World Series of Poker 2011 main event.
While Day 1A attendance was only slightly down from last year’s numbers, Day 1B was off by several hundred.
The final two registration days typically see a dramatic increase. Last year, the number jumped by about 1000.
Should the current trend continue, attendance should be lower than last year, but still substantial considering the events that transpired on April 15.
On that day, the US Justice Department indicted Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker, charging all three with money laundering and bank fraud.
Two of those companies – Full Tilt Poker and Absolute – have yet to pay back US customers.
