Merge Gaming Expected to Reopen to US Poker Players Shortly

PocketFives.com is reporting that the Merge Poker Network is anticipating allowing new US customers by the end of July.

Merge Gaming shut off new US registrations June 1 after the company found itself unable to handle the deluge of poker players left homeless by the abrupt exits of Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com from the US market.  Those three were indicted on April 15 charged with money laundering and bank fraud in connection with the alleged disguising of gambling transactions through a small bank in Utah.

Merge did not have enough payment processors to handle the amount of new customer acquisitions at the time.  Its growth was staggering at well over 100 percent in just a one month period.  Existing players, we should note, were permitted to continue playing a Merge's few dozen online poker skins.

Lock Poker is an advertiser on the Gambling911.com website.  It intends to allow new US customers in once Merge opens the doors.  Currently Lock accepts new US customers through its online casino.  Other Merge poker skins, like Hero Poker, have announced they will continue to prohibit new US signups at least through the summer.

Merge will not be taking new customers from the states of Washington, New York, Missouri and Louisiana.
