Uruguay opened with relatively short odds but most pundits believed that either Argentina or Brazil would be favorites to win the Copa America 2011.  Now Uruguay is the favorite to win outright against either Paraguay or Venezuela, two very unlikely nations looking to make the final.

Uruguay outright odds were available at William Hill here for non-US readers.

A rather large number of our readers following the Copa America games were coming from the US.  Bookmaker was offering odds on the Copa America matchups for US gamblers here.

Luis Suarez struck twice in three minutes as Uruguay beat Peru 2-0 on Tuesday to reach the Copa America final.

Paraguay had odds of 5/2 to win the Copa America championship while Venezuela came in with long (but enticing) 8/1 odds.
