TCU vs. Baylor Line

College Football 2011 kicks off this week with one of the better games before the weekend being TCU vs. Baylor and a line of -6 favoring the road team.

Since 2006, TCU has gone 3-0 Straight Up against Baylor and has won against the current spread all three times including a road game.

The Horned Frogs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big 12.

The Horned Frogs, however, are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games.

The Bears are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.

Baylor is 1-5 Against The Spread since 1992 when going up against a Mountain West opponent.

TCU went undefeated up to New Year’s Day, making a Rose Bowl appearance and ending up victorious, but a lot of that squad has now moved on.  Six of their defensive starters are also gone.

"I'll be honest with you, it will be an interesting year for us," TCU Coach Gary Patterson said. "Everybody talks about how we lost a lot of seniors. I think, talent-wise, what we have coming back will develop."

Last season, Baylor made its first bowl game appearance in 16 years, losing to Illinois.  The defense remains a concern after the Bears gave up 435.4 yards per game – 104th in the FBS.  They have since added defensive coordinator Phil Bennett, someone who helped Pittsburgh rank eighth in total defense in 2010.
