The Chiefs-Lions betting line had Detroit a pretty remarkable -8 point favorite all things considered.  After an astonishing pre-season going undefeated and their win in Tampa Bay to kick off the regular season, the betting public is already believing in these Lions.  Detroit has been in the NFL basement for more than a decade now.   (Bet this game at Bookmaker, North America’s oldest established online sportsbook – in progress wagering – mobile betting – fast payouts – Up to $2500 FREE CASH – the place where every professional sports bettor plays).

Gambling911.com reports that most books had this line at -9 so we would urge readers looking to bet on Detroit to place their bets now and lock in the number 8.  This line probably will not last.

Matthew Stafford threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns Thursday.  The Lions did make some costly mistakes including an interception that was returned for a touchdown.

The -8 point spread is the biggest we’ve seen in years where Detroit is on the minus side of the equation.

The spread wouldn’t be so huge if not for the fact that Kansas City got pummeled at home against Buffalo Bills.  It was their worst home defeat in 35 years.

"We left some guys open that I think we'll wish we had back, and they scored points on us when we didn't execute," Chiefs linebacker Andy Studbaker said. "Those things cost you."

Matt Caseel threw for 119 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
