Michael Divita Denies Child Molestation Accusations: Listeners React
Michael Divita claimed on the Quadjacks.com radio podcast show Wednesday night he did not voluntarily withdraw from the Epic Poker League after another player discovered he was a registered sex offender.
Divita initially served time nearly 20 years ago for lewd behavior with a minor girl.
In 2008, Divita was arrested in an incident involving what he claimed to be a “get rich quick scheme” in which a 16-year boy accused him of lewd behavior. Divita claims he was never convicted related to that incident.
The Epic Poker League states that Divita, who won a $20,000 seat in the tournament, voluntarily decided to dismiss himself from the main event.
“Who walks away from a $20,000 seat?” He asked on the program. “It’s just not done. It’s not even a little bit true.”
He claims he was surrounded by security and “encouraged to leave”.
During the program, Divita routinely made jokes related to his sexual exploits.
“I did poke her, but not the minor,” Divita said at one point, in an attempt to use a poker anology. “Oh that was sooo bad,” he then admitted.
Divita was also seemingly mocking the Latino population by responding to a listener with a last name of Spanish origin. “
“HE'S A FUCKING RACIST PSYCHO”, a listener lashed out.
Divita intends to bring legal action against the Epic Poker League should they not pay him $20,000.
