Full Tilt Poker Fate to be Determined Monday

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) is set to meet with representatives from beleaguered online poker firm Full Tilt Poker on Monday September 19, 2011 to determine whether that group will have its license reinstated.  Full Tilt Poker is yet to pay customers since its license was yanked June 29.  US customers have not been paid since indictments were issued against the company’s two co-founders.

Millions of dollars are believed to be owed to players across the globe.  FTP claims it has “investors” looking to infuse cash into the company.  Refinancing and full payment to customers is believed to be a requirement for reinstatement of the Full Tilt Poker license.

The AGCC announced last week it will hold the meetings with Full Tilt Poker in private.

André Wilsenach, executive director of the AGCC, called the decision “disappointing” in a statement released on their website.

“I am pleased that the FTP hearing will continue as scheduled, as was argued on my behalf. However, I am disappointed with the tribunal’s decision that, notwithstanding my arguments to the contrary, the hearing will be held in private.

“I believe the public has a right to know the reasoning behind the decisions to suspend FTP’s licences and call a hearing, and to hear the evidence that will be put forward on my behalf.”

The AGCC was originally scheduled to make a decision on July 26.
