Nevada Moves Forward With Online Poker
Lawyers, consultants and gaming industry representatives packed a room in Carson City, Nevada on Monday to discuss that state’s move forward to legalize online poker.
Regulations were released just over a month ago and this group was looking to make a few changes that will allow Nevada to become the hub of Internet poker in the US once federal legislation is passed.
"I think we have a solid foundation for regulations," board Chairman Mark Lipparelli said.
Having a structure in place will allow Las Vegas-based casino firms to jump into the fray as soon as federal legislation is passed.
There is no compelling reason for the federal government to deny millions of Americans the ability to compete in a game of skill from the comfort of their own homes, an editorial in the Las Vegas Review Journal noted.
