Australian entrepreneur Daniel Tzvetkoff will act as a star witness in the trial of 10 men charged in connection with the operation of three giants in the online poker sector – Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker.

The 28-year-old Tzvetkoff was arrested in Las Vegas in April last year for allegedly laundering more than $US500 million for the three Internet poker rooms and is facing 75 years in a US federal prison.  Ironically, there were unconfirmed rumors at the time of Tzvetkoff’s arrest suggesting operatives at Full Tilt Poker tipped off Feds regarding his journey to Vegas.  The Australian had shut down his payment processing business prior to being arrested, withholding millions of dollars from the big three rooms.

On April 15 executives from the three companies were charged with money laundering and bank fraud.  Tzvetkoff was widely believed to have entered a witness protection program, becoming an informant for the Feds.

Sky News noted that Tzvetkoff had been released from prison on August 23, 2010 and that the US Justice Department refuses to comment on his whereabouts.
