Saints-Rams Line

a This line has moved to -14.5 at some online sportsbooks with nearly 70 percent of those betting the spread still backing New Orleans.  The line actually opened at -15.5.

While the Rams have zero chance of making it into the post season, the New Orleans Saints are seen once again as Super Bowl contenders with odds at just shy of 9/1 at BetOnline.com

The idea of New Orleans losing to the Rams is hard to fathom, but can they cover a double digit road spread?

New Orleans has won this series over the past two years but only last season did the Saints win by double digits.  That was at home.

The oddsmakers have considered this past Sunday’s decimation of Indianapolis by the Saints when creating this line.

“While the New Orleans’ offense is among the best in the NFL, the Rams can’t seem to get it going both on the ground and through the air, as both units rank in the bottom-third of the league,” Tony Bryant of BetOnline.com notes.

“Bradford and Jackson have both dealt with nagging injuries this year and it has hurt their production, with Bradford throwing for just three touchdowns while Jackson has been limited to 290 yards and two scores. On a team that lacks depth on both sides of the ball, wins will be hard to come by if the best players aren’t performing at a high level. St. Louis ranks dead last in rush defense with an average of 183.8 yards per game, and given what the Saints did to the Colts this one could get ugly in a hurry.”
