A skin of the Microgaming Poker Network, 24Poker.com, has been shut down, the second Microgaming poker site in the past 48 hours to do so.

24Poker.com did not accept US customers but many worldwide are likely to be affected as the brand received approximately 880 search inquiries per month.  That is still a far cry from the 40,000 plus who search for Cake Poker on a monthly basis however so Gambling911.com does not anticipate a massive outcry from the online poker community.

Microgaming issued this statement on Monday:   "Microgaming (www.microgaming.com) today announced that all game play on the 24 Poker website has been blocked due to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission suspending 24 Poker’s gaming license.

“Both Microgaming and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission have tried without success to contact the 24 Poker Management Team. Further announcements will be made as additional information becomes available.”

Gambling911.com reported earlier that the long established PiggsPeak Poker Room was forced to shut down after South Africa declared Internet gambling illegal.  Over 90 percent of PiggsPeak’s customer base reportedly came from South Africa.

Unlike the situation at 24Poker, which appears bleak, PiggsPeak is allowing affected players to withdraw their monies from the site with little issue.
