Surging Seattle couldn’t ask for a better matchup as the Rams and their pathetic offense pay CenturyLink Field a visit on Monday night.

This is probably not the Monday Night Football matchup you wait all week for, especially if QB Sam Bradford can’t play for the Rams. Their A.J. Feeley-led offense had an anemic 157 total yards in the 26-0 blanking by San Francisco last week. And with Seattle playing at home with a few more days rest after Thursday’s win, this could be another ugly result for the Rams. Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has been running like a man possessed, gaining 591 yards and 5 TD in his past five games, and St. Louis has the worst rushing defense in the NFL (158 YPG). Also, since 2005, Seattle is 12-1 SU (10-3 ATS) against the Rams, including a dominating 24-7 win three weeks ago in St. Louis.

Bradford is dealing with an ankle injury, and there’s no need to rush him back to the field during such a lost season. St. Louis has dropped three straight games and is now 2-10 (both SU and ATS) on the year. The team has scored just 8.7 PPG on the road in 2011 while allowing 23.8 PPG to the home teams. RB Steven Jackson has clearly been the team’s best offensive player (994 total yards), but opposing defenses have really focused on stopping Jackson lately. In the past three weeks, Jackson has carried the ball 42 times for 125 yards (3.0 YPC), and he has not found the end zone in five straight games. However, Jackson has gained 1,426 total yards and 7 TD in 14 lifetime meetings with Seattle. Leading WR Brandon Lloyd saw his three-game TD streak end last Sunday when Feeley targeted him just two times against the 49ers. St. Louis has to be careful with turnovers, as the team has nine giveaways in the past four weeks while Seattle has 12 takeaways in this same four-game span.

The Seahawks have won three of four games, and could easily be riding a four-game win streak had they not blown a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead at home to Washington two weeks ago. Lynch has become the focal point of this offense, but the team still needs QB Tarvaris Jackson (10 TD, 12 INT) to perform at a higher level. He certainly reached that higher level last Thursday night when he completed 13-of-16 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. With star WR Sidney Rice done for the year, Jackson will continue to spread the wealth in terms of targets. The Seahawks usually dominate in their home stadium, but are only 3-3 (4-2 ATS) in Seattle this season.
