Popular US-friendly online poker site Americas Cardroom logged record numbers at the start of 2012, and management is crediting the doubling of all guarantees for the surge in traffic.

"This is the year for players in America to feel great about the state of online poker," stated Julius Maxwell, spokesman for Americas Cardroom. "We've seen an incredible surge in traffic, proof that our promotions are among the most attractive in the industry."

Over a span of four days, from January 5th through 8th, AmericasCardroom.eu featured double guarantees in every single online poker tournament on its tournament schedule. Tournaments normally guaranteed at $5,000 were pumped up to $10,000, events normally offering $15,000 featured prize pools of $30,000, and so on.

The double guarantees awarded $213,927.60 in prize money, with eight out of nine major tournaments awarding more cash than what had been guaranteed. The promo drew approximately 12,000 players to the guaranteed tournaments, and that number does not include those playing in cash games, satellites and non-guaranteed tourneys.

Players looking for more big guarantees at Americas Cardroom won't have to wait long. On January 29th, the online poker site will host a $75,000 Guaranteed tournament featuring one rebuy and one add-on at 6pm ET. The buy-in for the tournament is $100+9. Low buy-in satellites start at just $2+0.20 and are running now.
