The world’s number three largest real cash online poker network has announced its plans to change the site’s rake structure beginning in March.

iPoker Network will be shifting from a dealt distribution to a weighted rate.

Rival PokerStars, the world’s largest real cash online poker company, recently implemented a similar change to its rake structure, which resulted in mass player protests.

The so-called “tight” players are likely to be turned off by the new structure while recreational players should benefit.

iPoker remains in a tight battle with PartyPoker to capture the number two spot of most trafficked online poker rooms.  In recent weeks, Party has seen its margin over iPoker increase by a few hundred real cash players.
