Football Betting: Saints vs. Chiefs Betting Odds

Football betting is really the only reason this game might seem interesting.  Otherwise it is not.  The New Orleans Saints have not lived up to expectations while the Kansas City Chiefs have, which is not a compliment.

This is not exactly the easiest game in which to bet either as these two teams have alternated wins over this series that dates back to 1985.

New Orleans is 6-1 ATS verses a team with a losing home record, which might explain why the Saints are a -5 ½ road favorite.   The Chiefs are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games.

"The New Orleans Saints are an enigma," points out Betus.com analyst JD Williams.  "There isn't a whole lot to write about this team any more other than to say that consistency is not their strong suit. They tend to play very well at times and then play terribly at other times. They tend to play good defense and then awful defense. They tend to execute offensive plays perfectly and then suddenly look like they have just learned what the game of football is."

Adding insult to injury (or perhaps the other way around), Kansas City will be without defensive starters such as linebackers Derrick Johnson (thigh) and Pat Thomas (hamstring), while end Tamba Hali (knee), cornerbacks Brandon Flowers (thigh), Patrick Surtain (quadriceps), and safety Jarrad Page (groin) are all regarded as questionable for Sunday.

The Chiefs enter Sunday's contest having lost four straight and 17 of their last 18 dating back to last year, including a 20-19 near-miss in San Diego last Sunday.
