Bookmaker.eu has just released a Super Bowl 2012 ratings prop bet that includes whether the local ratings will be highest in either New York or Boston.  Bookmaker.eu is offering a ton of proposition bets on this year’s Super Bowl

Bookmaker.eu has odds of OVER/UNDER 117 million viewers with the OVER a -130 favorite.  The UNDER pays even odds.

By region, Boston higher local TV rating -7 had a line of -115 while New York at +7 had a line of -115 (request specifics before placing this bet).

The 2008 Super Bowl featuring the first Championship game meeting between the Giants and Patriots ended up with an audience of 97.4 million, the highest ever up to that time.

But Super Bowls keep gaining in popularity – probably because more and more people place wagers on the big one (although we don’t have any scientific data to support this notion)

Last year’s Super Bowl attracted an average audience of 111 million viewers, making the game the most viewed television broadcast of any kind in U.S. history.

With two huge media markets and a trend that continues heading upwards, the OVER 117 million viewers seems like a logical choice. Then again, one might argue that a West Coast/East Coast Super Bowl might draw even more viewers.
