Poker pro extraordinaire Phil Hellmuth is also a sports bettor and he was tweeting throughout Super Bowl Sunday about placing wagers on the big game.  Sadly, Hellmuth came out a $21,000 loser.

The self-proclaimed “Poker Brat” bet on 80 different possible outcomes throughout the game.  Sites like America’s Cardroom were offering live in-play betting.  It wasn’t immediately clear where Hellmuth placed these wagers and if this loss helped a particular book recover from that beating taken by only the third ever safety in a Super Bowl paying between $800 and $5000 on a $100 bet.

Poker Brat’s losses included a $2000 bet on there being OVER 27 points scored in the first half and a $2000 wager on the Giants scoring more than 27 points.  He also bet $3000 that the Patriots would win the game.

The 11-time World Series of Poker record bracelet holder Tweeted: "Lost EVERY Super Bowl bet: 8 out of 8.

"Apparently, I like records: set my personal record for biggest loss on one game: $21k plus juice."
