Famed pop singer and former drug addict Robbie Williams is lending his face and name to a newly launched online poker site, drawing criticism from Liberal Democrat MP Tessa Munt and others.

Ms. Munt told The Daily Mail: 'I’m outraged by this. It directly targets his fans, including children. The money he makes should go to addiction charities.'

One loyal Williams fan lashed out on his official website: 'Taking advantage of vulnerable people for financial gain does not sit right with me.'

While Robbie Williams Poker may be free-to-play, some of the tournaments will cost money to enter.  This could lead to addiction.

A spokesperson told The Daily Mail Williams said the plan was still in its very early stages and denied the star's intention was to make money.

German media firm PokerMania is launching the Robbie Williams online poker site.
