The Maryland US Attorney’s has concluded its years long investigation into Bodog.com with the seizure of its domain name.  Rumors have been swirling for months that former executives from the company were to be indicted.  A press release was expected from the agency on Tuesday.

Gambling911.com confirmed earlier in the month that WestLaw had been in the process of gathering, organizing and inputting data related to a cooperating witness in the case against Bodog.com, Michael Garone.  Federal authorities in Maryland filed money-laundering charges against Garon and another man, Edward Courdy, back in 2008.  Both were found to be processing payment transactions on behalf of Bodog at the time.

Bodog has since switched to a .EU domain extension while its US-facing brand has changed its domain entirely to Bovada.lv, however, it is widely believed that many long time Bodog customers still typed in the “Bodog.com” domain into their browsers, which re-directed them to the Bovada.lv website.

It is not believed that money was seized in connection with the domain takedown.

This story is developing and Gambling911.com will remain on top of it.
