Vermont comes into this tournament game red hot having won 12 of their last 13 games.

The Catamounts earned their fifth trip to the NCAA tournament in nine years as they upset top-seeded Stony Brook, 51-43.

Vermont ranks 32nd in points allowed (61 ppg), 76th in opponents' field-goal percentage (41.2) and 86th in opponents' 3-point percentage (32.2).

North Carolina enters the 2012 NCAA Tournament as a number one seed.

CBS Sports noted that the Tar Heels are arguably the only team with as much talent as the Wildcats.

While the Heels' defense is often questioned, the truth is they gave up 67 points per game because their fast pace creates extra possessions. UNC allowed only one team, Florida State, to shoot over 50 percent.
