Currently, states such as New Jersey, Nevada and California are moving forward with their own plans for regulation.  Gambling911.com featured an interview with California State Senator Roderick Wright discussing legalized Internet poker earlier today.

Highlights from the Fahrenkopf interview at Quadjacks.com included the following:

No reason why qualified non-casino groups, like social gaming, shouldn't be licensed under new model, says Fahrenkopf.

Federal bill necessary for tribal support, but must still delegate licensing & regulation to states, says Fahrenkopf.

Fahrenkopf: "Buried in the bowels of the DOJ and U.S. treasury are career people who hate the gaming industry."

Fahrenkopf: the DOJ memo was correct decision, but it has raised more questions than answers.

Fahrenkopf: Stars and Tilt operators were "extremely arrogant" about breaking U.S. law.
