Ylon Schwartz is a 38-year old chess player and now a 2008 World Series of Poker finalist.  Until now he had accumulated just over $200,000 in poker winnings. Schwartz began playing on the poker circuit in 1998 so he has certainly paid his dues.  Most of his wins have come since 2004. His biggest showing was 3rd place World Poker Finals / WPT Event Season 4 in 2005 with a win of $49,960.

As one of the nine finalists, Ylon Schwartz is guaranteed to take home around $1 million.  Schwartz is also a prolific online MTT'er (playing on PokerStars as ‘TenthPlanet') and likened the latter stages of the ME to the deep end of the Sunday Million (going on to add "except the Stars Million is probably a little tougher when you go deep").

His odds to win were set at 9/1.
