WagerWeb.com, one of the leading online sports betting sites, has posted early odds to win the 2012 World Series (see site here for the latest updated odds).
The usual suspects, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, enjoy relatively short odds with New York at better than 5/1 and Boston at 7/1.
The defending World Series champions St. Louis Cardinals were listed as long shots to repeat with a potential payout of $2500 for every $100 bet. Not surprising, perhaps, as the Cardinals managed to sneak into the post season after Atlanta’s last minute implosion.
The Texas Rangers lost last year’s World Series in Game 7 and have much shorter odds of winning in 2012 at 7/1.
