This may not be the type of high-profile game NBA bettors are looking to watch, but that doesn’t mean that the New Jersey vs. Golden State game tonight can’t turn out to be a profitable one.

Belmont line and total: Golden State -3.5 and 197

The Warriors are hoping to salvage at least one victory from this three-game homestand that has seen them go 0-2 SU and 1-1 ATS so far. They managed to keep it close with the Lakers but last time out they let a putrid New Orleans team come in and beat them by 15. Coach Mark Jackson wasn’t happy with his team’s effort and has likely spent the time since then preparing to come out strong tonight.

That was the third time in the last five games that Golden State failed to put up 90 points and while that may appear to be a negative heading into tonight, each time they eclipsed 100 points the next time out during this run. In fact, the Warriors have not eclipsed 90 points ten times this season and in the following game, their scoring average is 97.9 points. The Nets are not a good defensive team to begin with, so there is a great chance the Warriors can top 100 again tonight.

New Jersey has two straight games (tonight and tomorrow vs. Sacramento) against teams that will have no issues in turning the contest into a track meet and I’m sure the likes of Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace won’t mind that won bit. Williams is coming off a 30-point performance in blowing out Indiana on Wednesday and should have a field day offensively against the smaller guards of Golden State guarding him.

In the last seven meetings between these two out in Oakland, the over has cashed 6 times and Golden State is 7-2 O/U in their last nine home games.  They are also 6-2 O/U at home when playing a losing road team and the Nets are 4-1 O/U in their last five against teams from the Pacific.

I believe this game will follow those trends as both teams reach triple-digits as the victory will be up for grabs late.

Take the over.
