PokerStars, the largest of the real money online poker rooms, has traffic this week that is more than seven times that of its nearest competitor, the iPoker Network.

PokerScout.com, a website that monitors traffic of online poker rooms the world over, listed Stars weekly average as 24800 while iPoker had an average of 3450.

With last week’s announcement that PokerStars intends to acquire Full Tilt Poker, the site could potential enter into uncharted territory in terms of the margin between it and the nearest competitor.  Full Tilt was once the second largest Web card room with half the traffic of Stars.

The best case scenario is that PokerStars could potentially end up with 10 to 11 times the traffic of its closest rival, assuming a good chunk of Full Tilt Poker’s customers return.

It should also be noted that, at its peak, Stars averaged around 30,000 daily real money players.  The site lost a good chunk of its customer base after being forced to exit the US market last year.

The two sites are expected to operate separately, both under the Stars umbrella.
