World Series of Poker Events Have Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth With Strong Showing Friday
The 2012 World Series of Poker events were in full force with a total of 5 in progress on Friday. Among the top performers in events that were starting to wind down included Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Todd Brunson, David Arsht, Layne Flack and Brandon Schaefer.
WSOP Event 13 Limit Hold’em Winner is David Arsht
David Arsht has won Event 13 of the 2012 World Series of Poker – Limit Hold’em. Arsht takes home $211,921 and his first ever bracelet.
Arsht has 12 cashes in live poker tournaments to date with Event 13 becoming his second win.
730 players took part in this event.
Event #14: No-Limit Hold'em Shootout (2,000 player max)
Michael Corson, Brandon Schaefer and Layne Flack were among the 12 players remaining in the No-Limit Hold’em Shootout, WSOP Event #14. Play resumes Friday afternoon. The winner takes home $311,174. Everyone taking part in this event is guaranteed at least $17,544 moving forward.

Event #15: Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better
19 players were still taking part in Event #15: Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better Friday afternoon. Adam Friedman led with chips while two of the biggest names in poker, Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth, were among the top 10 chip holders. Todd Brunson, son of poker legend Doyle Brunson, was also among the remaining 19 players.
12-Year-Old Boy Gambled Away £7,000 of Dad's Cash on Poker Website
A boy, Declan Hind, recalls how at age 12 he gambled away his dad's hard-earned cash using a credit card to play online poker.
‘It started off in school. My mate got into the poker games. It was free to download, we were all doing it," Hind tells Metro.co.uk.
‘It was all virtual money but I got really good at it. I was making loads.’
With the credit card in his hand, he joined a real poker website.
‘I put all the information in. I started making a bit, but not as much as I was losing,’ said Declan, from Maghull, Merseyside.
The online poker site in question was not revealed.
No Lock on Number 9 Spot
Three online poker sites were looking to take hold of the number 9 spot for most trafficked networks.
The Merge Gaming Network and Microgaming were essentially tied in terms of the average daily number of players while the Revolution Gaming Network remained in striking distance. In fact, Revolution 24 hour peaks at times were greater than that of both Microgaming and Merge.
Revolution is the rebranding of the Cake Poker Network with Lock Poker having taken over after leaving Merge on May 31.
