Reports surfaced Wednesday that the world’s number two largest online poker room, PartyPoker, will no longer be offering high stakes cash games.

The move is designed to increase revenues while focusing more on the company’s lucrative recreational player base.

Just last week, Party’s parent company bwin.party announced its new fast-paced ring game, Zoom Poker, had cut into the online poker site’s bottom line.

Reaction to the removal of high stakes cash games has been mixed overall with some players saying they would migrate to rooms that welcome their action such as PokerStars.com and Americas Cardroom, the later of which accepts players from the US and recently introduced a $60k Progressive Rake Race called “The Beast”.
