One of the UK’s biggest bookmakers has already taken a $15.5k bet on Usain Bolt to win the 100-Meter Dash.
"We anticipate our high roller customers will fancy him to do the business,' Ladbrokes Spokesperson Jessica Bridge said.. "If they were to want 50,000 pounds ($77,500) or more on Bolt, then we will happily lay it."
The most heavily wagered event during the London games is expected to be the 100-meter dash.
Bolt would require a US$18 bet to win US$10 at WagerWeb.com (with the $18 refunded should he win).
The smart money might be on Yohan Blake, who would pay out $17 for every $10 bet. After all, Bolt was bested in trials by his fellow countryman Blake.
