NFL Preseason Football betting odds for August 11, 2012 featured Houston vs. Carolina and Tennessee vs. Seattle.  Carolina opened as a -1 point favorite but the line has since moved to -3.  The Panthers are listed with 5/1 odds of winning the NFC South, a division that features a favorite Saints team marred in controversy and a Falcons team that never quite seems to meet expectations (especially when it comes to the post season).

The Seahawks have remained the -3 point favorite hosting Tennessee.  All odds courtesy of WagerWeb.com, where qualified new customers have the chance to get up to $1000 in FREE BETS here

The Houston Texans have little value as a -600 or 1/6 favorite to win the AFC South Division.  Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot to suggest the Texans can with the AFC Championship either at more decent 4/1 odds. Houston had 10/1 odds to win the 2013 Super Bowl.

Houston’s only weakness last season was with the passing offense ranking, where they ranked18th.  Starting quarterback Matt Staub’s return should fix those numbers.

There is much better value in betting the Carolina Panthers when it comes to NFL futures.

Odds to win the NFC South can go any way every season it seems even if Atlanta and New Orleans have recently dominated.  New Orleans comes into 2012 having suffered through a massive “bounty” scandal.  Head Coach Sean Payton is out for the season following a one-year suspension.  The franchise has lost a few other talented pieces as well.

Atlanta will likely have another solid season.  With a healthy Julio Jones back and improvements in defense, they are probably the team to beat.  They still pay $12.50 for every $10 bet to win the division coming into 2012.  A Super Bowl win would pay out $20 for every $10.

With Carolina coming in just shy of 5/1 odds to win the NFC South, the value is certainly worth looking at especially if injuries start to hit in Atlanta.

The Seahawks goal this season will likely be to get just above the .500 mark, so we would look more at the Regular Season Win Total.  The division price isn’t even that enticing at 4/1 (10/1 we would be all over them).  The UNDER 7 pays $14 for every $10 bet.  The OVER has little value at -170.

Tennessee has some good potential in 2012.  We have a bit of a quarterback controversy brewing between Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker.  The good news is that the Titans will come into this new season with talent in the quarterback position regardless of who wins out.

Here’s a Titans team that went 9-7 last season and managed to miss the Playoffs.  The OVER/UNDER is just 7.5 with EVEN odds on the OVER and -125 on the UNDER.  It’s hard not to take the Titans to win at least 8 games.

While Houston looks like the team to beat in the division, Tennessee still pays $35 for every $10 bet and there is definitely some value in that price

The Titans season will likely be determined during the first four weeks where they will go up against four 2012 Playoffs teams.  A 2-2 start would be enough to seriously consider the AFC Division win, which will likely be around 3/1 still.  A 3-1 start and there may be more lofty plans for this Titans team.  The AFC Championship pays 22/1 odds
