The Bengals vs. Falcons line had Atlanta between a -4 and -5 point favorite Thursday night.  This game goes off at 8 pm EDT and can be bet online at WagerWeb.com here

Here we have two teams that are expected to play over .500 football in 2012.

Atlanta’s odds to win the 2013 Super Bowl were at 22/1 while the Bengals were listed at long odds of 40/1.  The Falcons would pay out slightly better than EVEN odds to win the NFC South while the Bengals would pay out $350 for every $100 bet to win the AFC North

The Falcons are likely to have a leg up on the New Orleans Saints with the later team mired in controversy over a “bounty hunting” scandal that left the Saints head coach Sean Payton suspended for the season.

With Julio Jones healthy and Asante Samuel joining the defense, this Falcons team can only get better in 2012.

The Cincinnati Bengals, meanwhile, were one of the pleasant surprises of 2011 and they hope to keep up that trend in 2012. Unfortunately for them, history suggests that won’t happen.

It’s been 30 years since the Bengals have had back-to-back Playoffs seasons. They have not won a playoff game in 22 years.  This is currently the NFL’s longest drought.  And the division hasn’t gotten any weaker either with Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
