Tony Bryant of BetOnline offers a good argument as to why the Aggies should cover here.

“The Tigers would not have covered this spread in either of the past two weeks, so it doesn’t make much sense to expect them to do it this week at College Station.  The Aggies’ offense is firing on all cylinders heading in to this meeting, and as long as they avoid costly turnovers they should have no problem at least keeping it close until the very end.”

He adds:  “Texas A&M has scored at least 48 points in four of its victories, right around its average of 47 so far this season. Freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel was a monster for the Aggies in their win against the Bulldogs, registering an SEC-record 576 total yards and six touchdowns, three on the ground and three through the air.

“Texas A&M will need to keep its star quarterback up against a talented Tigers’ front, and one of the keys will be protecting the football and avoiding costly turnovers. Manziel has thrown three interceptions over the past two weeks after throwing none in his first four games, and will need to be that much more careful with the ball this week as LSU guns for turnovers.”

The Aggies are 1-10 ATS when facing off against a team with a winning record.

LSU is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.

The Tigers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass.

The Tigers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.

The Aggies are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

The Aggies are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games.
