Harry Reid, John Kyl Internet Poker Draft Bill Still Being Written
Responding to criticisms from the Antiguan government that a draft bill for Internet poker proposed by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Senator Jon Kyl would leave the tiny Caribbean nation out of the equation, a Reid spokesperson clarified the current status of the measure.

A U.S. trade representative spokeswoman said last week the U.S. government "is actively engaged at high levels with the government of Antigua to find a way to amicably resolve the trade dispute in a mutually beneficial manner."
Antigua, a haven for licensing of Internet gambling websites, won its trade dispute in the World Trade Organization against the US a number of years ago.
....Unfinished business expected to be debated during the Lame Duck session of Congress these next few weeks provides some glimpse into a possible vehicle for which Internet poker legislation can ride, the most notable being a Cybersecurity act.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is expected to sign a bill legalizing real money poker within his state as early as month's end. New Jersey is looking to form compacts with other states regardless of whether federal legislation is passed or not.
