Alex Smith will not be starting for San Francisco.  As such, the Bears 49ers line has fallen sharply from -7 to -3 at some locations.  Bookmaker.eu featured the -3 while most books were at -3.5.

Smith suffered a concussion last week but was widely expected to play in the Monday Night Football games against Chicago.

Colin Kaepernick will start in Smith's place while Jason Campbell will be the Bears' starter as Jay Cutler has also been ruled out due to a concussion.

Team medical director Dr. Dan Garza evaluated Smith and determined he was not yet ready to play.

The 49ers are a pretty impressive 26-9 Against The Spread playing on Monday nights.  As a favorite of between 3.5 and 9.5, San Francisco has gone 12-5 ATS.

As an underdog of between 3.5 and 9.5, Chicago is 2-5 ATS over the past three seasons.
