American poker pro Scott Seiver has won $2,003,480 - one of the biggest prizes in poker - after taking down the $100,000 PCA Super High Roller tournament.
As well as the life-changing cash first prize and prestigious title, Seiver also receives a stunning ‘Steel and Diamond’ design watch worth €14,880 from luxury Swiss brand Slyde, the Official Bracelet Sponsor of PCA10.
Seiver, who beat American David “Doc” Sands heads-up to take the title, said: “This is just so fantastic. Sitting around with all the best players in the entire world ... and then you somehow end up on top and you get to share that moment with all your friends. It’s everything I’d ever want; it’s perfect.”
Seiver, 27, a New Yorker who now lives in Vegas, now has nearly $7 million in live tournament earnings. His biggest score before today was in May 2011 when he won the $25,000 WPT Championship Event at the Bellagio for more than $1.6 million. He won a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2008 for $755,891. David Sands snagged $1,259,320 for his runner-up finish – the biggest cash of his career.
A total of 47 players bought in to the event making it the largest ever turnout for a $100k tournament. There were 12 re-entries bringing the total number of entries to 59 and generating a $5,724,180 prize pool.
American Nick Schulman bettered his 2011 fourth place by finishing third for $744,140 while EPT London High Roller champion Philipp Gruissem came fifth for $400,700. Hedge fund CEO Greg Jensen, who came sixth, is donating his entire $286,200 prize to the victims of the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Last year’s runner-up Dan Shak came eighth.
