The Alabama Crimson Tide were not the only winners Monday night in the BCS Championship game versus Notre Dame.  The bookmakers also made out big.

The Tide rolled over the Fighting Irish with a 42-14 win.   It was Alabama's second straight title and third in four years.

“It turned out to be a good result for us,” said MGM Resorts sports book vice-president Jay Rood. “We got quite a bit of Irish money over the weekend, but Alabama money showed up big on Monday.

“Our worst-case scenario was Notre Dame winning the game outright.”

“One of our best scenarios came through with Alabama covering and the game going OVER the total (40)," said LVH Super Book vice-president Jay Kornegay. "We had a lot of built up risk with Notre Dame on the money-line (+265) and had some big parlays from in-house players with Notre Dame taking the points and the UNDER.”
