Mississippi Exploring Legalized Online Gambling Once Again

One of the least likely states, conservative Mississippi, is once again exploring options to legalize online gambling.

Mississippi considered seriously flawed legislation last year that called for – among other things – allowing cash and credit as deposits with little oversight and the confiscation of inactive funds by the state.

An almost identical bill is being re-introduced by state Rep. Bobby Moak.  He once again asserts that legalized online gambling in the state would result in countless numbers of jobs created.

The proposal also calls for a $200,000 licensing fee to be paid by operators and renewed every five years.

Where Web poker is concerned, the Magnolia State would likely not be sustainable on a stand-alone basis with only a population of just under 3 million.
