Michael Crabtree Could Have Season Ending Injury: 49ers Still Favored to Win Super Bowl
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree may have suffered a season ending injury with a torn tendon during team activities Tuesday. Despite this news, Sportsbook.com still had the 49ers as a favorite to win the 2014 Super Bowl at 6/1 odds.
The 49ers season wins total betting line was set at OVER/UNDER 11.5.
Crabtree, 25, is coming off a season in which he had career-highs in receptions (85), yards (1,105) and touchdowns (nine).
USA Today is reporting that Crabtree was expected to have surgery to correct the injury and he may not play this upcoming season.
From USA Today:
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the 49ers haven't commented on the injury, which used to be an automatic season-ender but has since become one that can sometimes be rehabbed in a matter of months -- as Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Da'Quan Bowers did last year.
