Sports Illustrated to Publish New Nevin Shapiro Hurricanes Betting Allegations
Sports Illustrated was set to publish the latest allegations from former Miami Hurricanes booster Nevin Shapiro, whereby he claims to have gained insider information to bet on games.
The publication sent a news release Wednesday morning announcing the story titled 'The Institution Has Lost Control" by writers Pete Thamel and Alexander Wolff. The article will also delve into Miami’s enforcement procedures.
Shapiro claims to have won $1.18 million after UM coaches told him quarterback Kyle Wright would be benched for a 2007 game. Bank records supplied to SI back up the financial gain.
