While a daily analysis will be necessary, Gambling911.com takes an early look at this week’s Major League Baseball possible hits and misses for the savvy sports bettor.

These were the hot teams coming into this week:

*Boston – They have the second best record in the league right now with 50 wins.  They have won 6 of their last 10 games.

*Pittsburgh – They have the single best record in the league right now with 51 wins.  They’ve also won 9 straight.

*Baltimore – They won 3 games straight at the time of publication with a 46-36 record.

*Detroit – Just a tad cold having lost 2 straight at the time of publication.  Cleveland had just tied them for first place in the division.  They are a few games above .500.

*Cleveland – G911 won big with the Indians Sunday after managing to sweep the White Sox.  Definitely a team to consider wagering on for the next few days.

*Texas – They’ve gotten hot again, going 8-2 in the last 10.  The Rangers have an impressive 48 wins.

*Oakland – Also with 48 wins and tied in the AL West with Texas.  They’ve cooled off just a tad but savvy bettors will be looking for some value with the A’s.

*Atlanta – They had 48 wins with a 6.5 game lead in the NL East.

*St. Louis – 49 wins but cooled off a bit having 6 losses in their last 10 games.

*Cincinnati – Had been hot in a very tough division that includes the Cardinals and Pirates.  They have lost 7 of their last 10 games but still had a solid record of 46-36 (better than the likes of Detroit, Cleveland and right up there with the Orioles).

*Arizona – 42-39 and leading the weak NL West by 2 games.

Toronto and Tampa Bay may be betable in the AL East under extreme circumstances (i.e. a starting pitcher is 5-0 against his opponent on the road and his team is an underdog), but we are staying clear of the New York Yankees for now due to their lackluster play.

Elsewhere, keep an eye on the Angels.  They’ve managed to win 6 straight at press time but were still a few games under .500.

Monday:

*Current Tigers have .378/.410/.612 career rates against R.A. Dickey of Detroit.  The Tigers were already coming in as a +120 underdog in Toronto Monday.

Wednesday:

*Josh Johnson, starting for Toronto, was destroyed by Detroit hitters on April 11.  We should see the Tigers as an underdog or very small favorite in this game.

*Derek Holland has 6 wins, six quality starts, a 3.28 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 9.30 strikeouts-per nine innings ratio in his last 8 starts against the Mariners.  He’s been pitching in Texas against Seattle ace Felix Hernandez, so the price might be under -140.  Hernandez is 5-8 with a 4.35 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 16 career starts at Texas' Rangers Ballpark.
